The Sal 10 area is underlain by fragmental volcanic rock, andesite, tuffs, argillite and siltstone of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded by Early Jurassic monzodiorite to gabbro of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite.

In 1965, geological mapping on the Rex, Sal, and Rum claim groups was carried out on behalf of Bralorne Pioneer Mines Limited. A small patch of malachite stain was found with rust and pyrite in a narrow fracture zone in granodiorite. No assays were reported.
